This piece was created by unpicking and washing recycled Oshima Tsumugi kimonos.
A variety of Oshima Tsumugi fabrics have been used.
One of the classic Oshima Tsumugi patterns—the tortoiseshell pattern typically found on men’s garments—adorns the top section, whilst the middle and bottom sections feature Oshima Tsumugi with a Seigaiha (blue wave) pattern.
The fabric boasts a rich lustre and a crisp, textured feel; the tortoiseshell pattern on the top section is made from a thin, very lightweight fabric.
The frill section is adorned with luxurious Oshima Tsumugi that has a sheen which almost appears silver.
You can enjoy the distinct textures of each section.
Oshima Tsumugi, made fashionable♪♪
I have created a unique skirt featuring frills on a tiered design.
Oshima Tsumugi tends to have subdued colours and patterns.
One of its charms is that even when decorated, it maintains a understated and elegant look♪
It’s a real gem—simply pairing it with everyday tops, or even the most ordinary T-shirts or tank tops, is enough to transform your look into something perfect for going out♪
It can also be styled with a blazer or similar to create a smart outfit for going out.
A one-of-a-kind piece, featuring a miraculous combination of fabrics.
Please enjoy the unique texture and rich character of each piece of Oshima Tsumugi.
